Electrical engineer today. I've been designing RCS (Radar Cross-Section) measurement equipment the last seven years. RCS systems are used to measure stealthy stuff to make sure it is stealthy. These systems have to have serious sensitivity in order to see what signals reflect off their targets. It's an interesting business. Prior to this, I have been designing communications equipment. I've been an amateur radio operator for over 30 years and I am very grateful to the hobby and to my mentors for teaching me what I've learned over the years.
Although I have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, my experience as a radio hobbyist has taught me as much as my degree. Experience is the best teacher.
I'm a noncom in the Virginia Defense Force, the state guard today.
