System Administrator - Storage Administrator - TX

The Senior System Administrator will be focused on Storage related issues for the client company. The successful person will design and implement in-house information systems and networked software architectures which support core organizational functions, and assure their availability. This individual will gain organizational commitment for all systems and software plans, as well as evaluate and select all technologies required to complete those plans. In addition, the Senior System Administrator provides technical leadership across the organization, including strategic recommendations to the project planning. The work location is in Fort Worth, TX.

In addition the Senior System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The Senior System Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues.

Below are some of the duties the successful individual will need to perform:

*Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports
*Provide monitoring, capacity planning, and operational support for the storage platforms within the company. The Storage Area Network includes iSCSI Platforms, Enterprise Backup and Recovery, direct attached storage platforms, and legacy storage
*Develop and maintain reporting procedures to inform senior leadership of the state of the company's storage resources
*Serve as the lead technical contact for storage vendors in planning new implementations or upgrading and troubleshooting existing implementations of storage and backup technologies
*Design and implement long-term and short-term plans for managing and maintaining corporate software and systems
*Provide expertise, direction, and assistance to Systems Analysts, Systems Engineers, Systems Architects, and software development teams
*Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities
*Research emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility
*Communicate with departmental mangers to identify and needs or resolve issues
*Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems
*Integrate servers, databases, e-mail, print, backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems
*Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records
*Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
