Humosa RRL

I was stationed at the Humosa, Tropo site from 1982-84. I was trying to locate the site on Google Earth and think I may have found it? It sure does look like it, especially the pad area where the billboard antennas where? 40 39'58.70 N / 3 15'15.91W. Does anyone possibly have pictures of the site?

When I put your coordinates in, I got a location about 11 miles north of Humosa. This is the location that I'm pretty sure is it:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=humosa,+spain&sll=40.666056,-3.2547&sspn=0.460937,1.07666&ie=UTF8&ll=40.499303,-3.253112&spn=0.00722,0.016823&t=h&z=17&om=0

I have some pics of several different sites loaded up on WebShots. You can see them here:

Hope this helps!!
Joe

BTW, I was stationed over in Italy at Coltano from 89-92 -- just before they deactivated these links.

Thanks Joe! That's exactly the site...I see the pads for the Tropo antennas and also see the round pad where our Satellite dish used to be located. I'm sure the place has changed very much as I can now see a good sized road at the main gate entrance to the site. Also, thanks for the link to the pictures! Take Care..!

Why not post some of those pics on this site with the grid coordinates?

Is there a way to post images somewhere on here? I looked around and didn't find a way to do it...

Did you know a 304X0 there named Steve Delany?? Steve was my squad leader in basic training and we both went to Keesler AFB at the same time. I went to Menorca and he went to Humosa.
