Principal Engineer/Analyst I-Brooks City Base, TX

Description
Performs project management. Provide consulting to directors and senior managers on specific areas of expertise. Develop, lead and conduct quality workshops, benchmarking, and surveys. Facilitate process improvement efforts. Manage a team of consultants and analysts. Generate papers and documents. Requires familiarity with a variety of the fields, concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to program manager and customer.
Essential Functions
•Provides highly technical expertise in network and telecommunications architecture development, network/systems design, and product selection.
•Leads network infrastructure upgrade design projects.
•Prepares project implementation plan, coordinates project activities, monitors project milestones, and provides progress reports.
•Functional responsibility for all aspects of project performance (i.e., technical, contractual, administrative, financial).
•Manages and supervises personnel involved in all aspects of project activity, organizes and assigns responsibilities to subordinates, and oversees the successful completion of all assigned tasks.

Requirements
Bachelors Degree in appropriate engineering discipline or other related field AND 15 years of technical experience must be in local area networks (LAN) installation, configuration, and maintenance. Experience with cable plant design and providing support in conducting network and telecommunications requirements analysis, design and implementation.
OR,
Master Degree in appropriate engineering discipline or other related field AND 10 years of technical experience must be in local area networks (LAN) installation, configuration, and maintenance.

An additional five (5) years of applicable professional technical experience may be substituted for the BS degree requirement.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

This position is subject to up to 50% travel to various locations throughout the world.
