Technical Specialist - Wireless and RF up to 90K

NOTE: POSITION LOCATIONS: This position has a flexible work location: ( not remote ) PREFER anywhere in upstate New York (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany) HOWEVER can work from any one of the following locations/offices: State College Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Vienna Virginia, Richmond Virginia, or Melbourne Florida.

We are currently recruiting staff to provide a wide range of technical consulting skills including: Needs assessment, technical design, specification, and implementation support services for internal staff and public safety clients. While we currently seek candidates to address specific project opportunities in the state of NY, candidates must, in the long-term, be willing to travel periodically to any project site as work conditions require.

Overview of Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and develop detailed scope of work documents.
* Assess current conditions and provide analysis of client needs.
* Develop detailed and accurate project plans, correspondence, and reports.
* Provide recommendations and designs for radio systems and related equipment.
* Design dispatch and remote communication facilities and networks including LMR, analog, P25, conventional and trunked radio, and paging systems.
* Conduct RF engineering propagation and interference studies.
* Research and prepare FAA studies for tower sites and FCC license applications for LMR and microwave.
* Develop project cost estimates and schedules.
* Provide oversight of procurement and technical specifications.
* Evaluate proposals, bids, and implementation of contracts.
* Provide project management and project implement services.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering. An associate’s degree or military experience will also be considered. Five to ten years of experience in a related technical field is required. Familiarity with current Public Safety regulatory (FCC, FAA, etc.) and standards activities is a must. Strong background in: 9-1-1 dispatch communications, VHF/UHF and 700/800 MHz bands, analog and digital LMR radio systems, mobile data, 802.11, Wi-Fi, microwave, fiber optics, telephony, communications centers, data networks and information systems is required. EIT, PE, or PMP certification is a plus. Applicants must have excellent verbal, writing, interpersonal skills and must be willing to travel.
